Starting February 1st, 2025, foreign nationals who need to temporarily enter Peru and
whose final destination is a third country must obtain a transit visa. This visa is granted
for a maximum period of 2 calendar days from their entry into the country and can be
extended up to 15 calendar days.
Foreign nationals exempt from the visa requirement to enter Peruvian territory for any
migratory status (tourism, business, etc.) and under any travel document are not
required to obtain the transit visa, as long as they meet the same conditions of the
exemption granted for such entry.
All foreign nationals entering Peru must have passports with a minimum validity of 6
months from the date of their entry into the country.
