As of Saturday, February 1, 2025,
foreign citizens who need to transit through Peruvian territory and are not
exempt from the visa requirement for entry into Peru within the
framework of the provisions of D. S. No. 004-2025- RE must process their
respective transit visa. The transit visa authorizes the temporary entry into
Peruvian territory of a foreign person whose final destination is a third
country.
The visa application must be made at least 20 days before the flight.
Requirements
 
- Present a valid passport (with at least six
     months' validity)
 
 
- Fill out the form provided by the Peruvian
     consulate (DGC 005).
 
 
- Two (2) passport size colour photographs, plain white background, no glasses.
 
 
- Personal interview, scheduled by the Peruvian
     consulate.
 
 
- Ticket to and from Peru to a third country (ticket,
     electronic ticket or reservation).
 
 
- Demonstrate
     conditions of admissibility to the final destination and intermediate
     destinations: Visa or entry permit if required, hotel reservations, tour
     reservations, among other documents.
 
 
- Prove financial solvency to cover travel expenses:
     recent copy of your bank statement.
 
 
- Payment of the corresponding consular fee.

Important
 
- Payment must be made at Banco Itaú, checking
     account in the name of the Embassy of Peru No. 0950230 (you can pay by
     transfer or mailbox). 
 
 
- You can also pay in ABITAB or REDPAGOS, for which
     you must provide all the account information (account type: checking
     account, in the name of: Embassy of Peru, N° 0950230).
 
 
- Payment of the consular fee is made once the visa is approved. You must bring physical proof of payment to proceed with printing the visa.
 
 
- The Consular Section does NOT receive cash under
     any circumstances.
 
 
Observations
 
- The
     maximum period of stay in Peruvian territory, in transit, is two (2)
     calendar days, counted from the date of entry into the territory of the
     Republic of Peru, extendable for a maximum period of fifteen (15) calendar
     days, period that includes the same day of the indicated entry.
 
 
- The
     passport of foreigners exempt from the transit visa must have a minimum
     validity of six (6) months, a period that can be counted from the date of
     entering the national territory.
 
 
- Uruguayan
     nationals are exempt from the transit visa as they do not require a visa
     to enter Peruvian territory as tourists.
 
 
- The submission of the visa application and
     supporting documents does not guarantee automatic issuance of a visa. Each
     application is assessed individually by the Peruvian Consul.
 
 
- During the proceedings of the application, it may
     be required the submission of additional requirements.
